My family always enjoys Mrs Yoder’s Kitchen. Excellent buffet with delicious food.
Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen, located in Mount Hope, Ohio, is a beloved establishment that has been serving up delicious Amish cuisine since 1994. Founded by Gloria Yoder, the restaurant has become a popular destination for both Amish regulars and tourists alike.
Known for its time-tested classics and creative new dishes, the kitchen offers an all-you-can-eat buffet that features rich and flavorful Amish fare. The restaurant’s warm hospitality and mouthwatering food have made it a dream come true for Gloria Yoder, who always aspired to open her own restaurant. Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen is a true gem in the heart of Amish country, offering a taste of tradition and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all who visit.
Since its opening in 1994, Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen has evolved in several ways. In 2002, the restaurant was purchased by the Herschberger family, leading to significant changes and expansion. Under the new ownership, the restaurant continued to grow and serve both loyal and new customers, while maintaining its traditional Amish home-style cooking.
The expansion included adding 85 seats, a designated carry-out entrance, a service counter, and a second kitchen to cater to carry-out and catering operations. The buffets and dessert bar in the original space were also improved and expanded for better customer service.
Additionally, the restaurant’s commitment to supporting various organizations throughout Holmes County has been recognized, and it was honored with the Large Business of the Year award by the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce in 2018. The restaurant, known for its all-you-can-eat buffet and traditional Amish fare, continues to be a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
The restaurant is known for its traditional Amish home-style cooking, including specialties such as fried chicken, pork chops, roast turkey, pot roast, ham, and a variety of made-from-scratch pies, including apple, cherry, custard, coconut cream, raisin cream, peanut butter cream, black raspberry, pecan, and sugar-free pies. The restaurant also offers an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring a variety of traditional Amish fare, including crispy fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and more.
